Segment points, enumerate beams

Segment points and cross section parts are used for the definition of elements and nodes for the structural model in RM. Each part represents a series of elements and the reference points define the structural nodes.

The element and node numbers can be set for selected segment points in the corresponding input window (see sppart ). Another way to number is to use the automatic numbering of RM Bridge Modeler.

Note: You must take care to define the numbering scheme. The program does not choose numbers especially if several segments are combined together.

Automatic numbering

After having defined the starting numbers for elements and nodes RM Bridge Modeler assigns automatically all further numbers for the concerned segment. The number of elements to be created along the axis is checked and the program take into consideration a certain offset if more than one part exist.

Material

A material is assigned to elements by defining the material name. A new material is created if the chosen material does not exist in RM yet. The corresponding material properties need to be specified in RM.
